Charleville Golf Club welcomes Denis O’Sullivan European Seniors Tour Professional to the launch of our Development Fundraising Golf Classic which will take place on 29th, 30th and 31st of August, 2014.
Denis, born in Cork, won the 1985 Irish Amateur Close and the 1990 Irish Amateur Stroke Play competition before turning professional in 1997 when he qualified for the European Seniors Tour. He is one of the tour’s most consistent players. He has won six seniors events and finished in the top ten on the Order of Merit several times with a best ranking of third. We thank Denis for taking the time to be with us here today from his busy schedule and wish him well in the future.
We welcome also our main sponsor of this event, Bernie Carroll, Managing Director of Student Programmes Ireland Limited. This is an award winning company based here in Charleville, Co. Cork and was set up in 2009 by Bernie to cater for the increased demand for international students to come to Ireland to improve their English Language Learning Skills. The format of the golf classic is a team of three with two scores to count at each hole. Team Entry Fee is €150 including a meal. Tee Box Sponsorship €50. Sponsorship of Hole €100. Entries will be taken by the Pro-Shop at Charleville Golf Club (063) 21269 or (063) 81257.
A fantastic competition is envisaged for the brilliant array of prizes valued in excess of €5,000 which will include Power Caddys, Golf Buddies, Golf Bags, Golf Trolleys, Golf Shoes, Sweaters, Green Fee Vouchers for several great golf courses and numerous other prizes. Apart from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes there will be Best Ladies Team , Best Mixed Team and Best Visitors Team prize and several others.
